Biometrics Scheduled

We GOT THE LETTER!! Yes you read that right!! Are appointment is not until the 28th but most people are able to walk in early. We will be headed to the court house tomorrow and praying they fingerprint us. This is a BIG step. Once these fingerprints are approved we send in our DOSSIER. The last pile of paperwork. We have documents in 3 different states right now being apostille for our dossier.  Once the Dossier is approved they send us TRAVEL DATES!! WOW can you feel my excitement. We are getting so close to meeting our little boy.

Project Hopeful is a nonprofit ministry. They help children with  HIV/AIDS and other special needs find homes. They are a wonderful ministry that I would love to be help in the future. We are so honored to be included on their site for fundraising. Come see Gavins story here:

This journey is becoming much more than a mission to bring a child home. It has been amazing the people and organization that are supporting us. We knew not everyone would understand this calling but I am 100% certain that the Lord has lead us down the right path.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.   Proverbs 3:5-6

To you tonight Gavin on your very special day. I promise you next year will be different....

I hold you in my heart and touch you in my dreams.You are here each day with me, at least that's how it seems.I know you wonder where we are.. what's taking us so long. But remember child, I love you so and God will keep you strong. Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin...Because tonight just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.May God hold you in His hand until I can be with you.I promise you my darling, I'm doing all that I can do.Very soon you'll have a family for real, not just pretend.But for tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.May God wrap you in His arms and hold you very tight.And let angels bring the kisses that I send to you each night.

Blessings from strangers

Blessing come in all sizes and in all shapes. When you least expect it someone leaves you a note reminding you what life is all about. Last night I had a unexpected message in my invoice from a stranger. Well not a total stranger. A women with determination to save as many orphans as possible. They are also in the process of bringing a special little one home. I am truly touched that she is advocating for others while in the process herself.  AMAZING----Come read her story about the Thomas Family Here :)

Home study done

I met with our social worker today and received the final notarized home study. The home study is basically A long(12 page) report about the Thomas family :) it goes into great detail about our upbringing and childhood. Then it goes on and on about our lives as adults and info about our kids. It included all of the reference letters from family and friends. I read over some of it tonight. It was interesting to read another persons views on my family. It was Also great encouragement to read the final statments regarding her recomendation, " I highly recommend this family to adopt this child with special needs". I often hear that this little boy is so blessed to have us coming to get him, Nope we are trully blessed to be chosen to be his family. We have received a new updated medical report. To be honest, some of the information is scary. I can't help but feel emotionally attached already and fear for his health. I long to bring him home and give him proper medical care and the Love he needs to grow and thrive. This week has been full of excitement. We also got new pictures and Videos! I loved sharing these with Bradley and Kaitlyn. I imaging them all running around the house screaming and playing together :) The next adventure in this wild ride is to wait for our scheduled biometrics. These are another set of important fingerprints. Then we will be compiling the Dossier. The dossier is the last major step!!

Sold out

Yes, we sold out at the bake sale last Sunday. There was nothing left except for two cookies that Kaitlyn pleaded with our last guest not to eat. I was really hoping to get at least one of those doughnut muffins to taste :) It was a wonderful day filled with encouragement. We loved listening to other peoples own stories of adoption. There was a father of three little boys that shook Andy's hand and said " Wow, Is there any better display of Christianity then through adoption".
